Favorite photoshoot locations sycamore
Sycamore is my home town, I’ve lived here almost my entire life. I have spent a lot of time perusing these locations, even as a child. Many of them are near and dear to my heart. Sycamore is rich with beautiful destinations to take family, mommy and me, and maternity photography. Here are my top locations to take pictures at but by all means, this is NOT a complete list and is not in any specific order. I always have a couple of hidden gems I like to keep to myself!
The Sycamore Historical Society is one of my favorite spots. It combines a lot of different kinds of locations into one. Featuring barns, a white picket fence, an open field, and beautiful fruit and vegetable gardens, this spot is preferred by many of my clients. One of my favorite photos of all time was taken here— two kids running down the hill with their parents and baby brother watching lovingly behind them. So much fun to be had here, while also capturing great memories!
Sycamore Park is a great little spot. With a pond in the center, a bridge overlooking the Kishwaukee River, and a beautiful golden hour, I definitely consider this place a hidden gem. The willow trees are gorgeous in the background, and the pond reflects the glow of the sun beautifully. You would never know it’s the tail end of the sports complex because it feels like it’s own little piece of paradise.
KarFre Flowers is a wonderful greenhouse located just down the street from downtown Sycamore! The owner is amazing and has allowed me to photograph Mommy and Me Mini Sessions here just this past spring. I have to say, photos in this greenhouse are probably some of my top favorites. The wide variety of plants give the place so much character, not to mention the clear screen of the greenhouse allows photos at any time, even in the rain! I call that a win-win.
This little park slipped under my radar for many years until a client suggested it to me last year! An absolute hidden gem. In the fall, the tall grass and natural foliage is beautiful. This is a perfect location during golden hour with lots of contrast from the shadows of the trees!
