About Me!!!

hi! I’m Erica.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I am the owner and photographer at Little Rose Photography. I love coffee, camping, roller blading, and playing video games with my hubby. Sometimes if I’m feeling adventurous, I even like to knit. I live in Sycamore with my husband and partner in crime, Adam, and my three kids, Sawyer, Zoe, and Tessa. My kids definitely run the show at home, and they each march to the beat of their own drum, but it is the greatest blessing to be their mom. Even though our day-to-day is more chaotic than not, it’s not hard to find something to be thankful for as I watch them play and grow.

My passion for photography began back when I was in high school and I waited in the Target line on Black Friday to purchase my first camera. When my son was born back in 2013, I purchased my first dSLR in an attempt to take pictures of him that didn’t turn out blurry like they did on my phone (he always moved so fast!). My daughter was born not long after, and that was the spark that ignited what is now Little Rose Photography. I was interested in photographing other people, but I didn’t know where to start. One day, I came across a Facebook post from a friend-of-a-friend asking if anyone knew who could take pictures of her newborn daughter. I volunteered to do it for free, and the rest is history. We became fast friends, and our daughters (4 months apart in age) are now besties!

It wasn’t easy to get where I am now, and I am still working towards lots of goals and dreams, but I have come a long way from that first little girl I photographed. I became an official business (licensed and insured) in January of 2016. Over the last 7 years, I have taken lots of classes, the most notable being newborn safety. When choosing your photographer, knowledge of safety should be your number one priority. Newborn poses can be done right, and they can be done wrong. I have learned to pose babies in a safe and comfortable way, and can be trusted to always be gentle, loving, and caring with your baby.
